Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman
Steve is CEO and co-founder of Object Trading. Based in London, he is responsible for building strategic partnerships and supporting the firm’s continued growth around the world. Steve was integral to the initial development of Object Trading’s flagship direct market access (DMA) product suite, FrontRunner, and he continues to mould its development today. Prior to forming Object Trading in 2000, Steve was CEO at an alternative investment fund manager, which managed two retail hedge funds and wholesale allocated accounts. In this role he observed and resolved a multitude of trade execution problems, which drove him to apply his buy-side operational experience in automated trading systems development to create the FrontRunner suite. Steve was recently featured in The Trade Hot 100 – The Most Influential, Important And Informed People In Trading in 2016. He received a B.Sc. (Hons) degree from the University of Queensland, and Grad. Dip. Management and MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM).
Chief Technology Officer
Ian is Chief Technology Officer for Object Trading and has been with the company since 2002. He is responsible for the company’s direction in the areas of software architecture, product development and R&D as well as being directly involved in strategic business planning and development. Before joining Object Trading in 2002, Ian gained experience in the United Kingdom and Switzerland, where he consulted in senior roles specialising in object oriented analysis and systems design. Ian is a respected technologist with over 20 years’ experience in the field of software engineering. His key professional experience includes software systems design and development across several domains including heavy industry, knowledge management, telecommunications, financial funds management and financial trading systems. Ian holds the degrees of Bachelor of Computer Engineering (honours) and Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Newcastle, Australia.
Chief Operating Officer
Gerry is COO and an Executive Director of Object Trading and has been with the Company since 2008. Based in the UK, Gerry is responsible for global customer facing operations of the company, including service delivery and account management. As a Board member, Gerry brings his expertise of sell-side technology and technical planning process to the business. Prior to Object Trading, Gerry spent most of his career in Sell-Side Investment Banks working on Trading Floor Infrastructure before moving to Electronic Trading in the mid 90’s and then on to Front Office ecommerce management. In the process Gerry has worked on several high profile projects including the first electronic FX Options brokerage, the launch of the largest FX Cash trading platform as well as the implementation and running of one the largest global Listed Derivatives trading platforms. Gerry studied Computer Science at Kingston University with a particular emphasis on Robotics.
Director of Sales
Des is responsible for leading Object Trading’s sales and business development initiatives. His role is to help clients take advantage of Object Trading’s products and services whilst aligning the company’s technology innovations with the specific needs of buy and sell side clients. Prior to Object Trading, Mr Peck was at TMX Atrium, where he ran Marketing and Product Development teams and previously held senior positions at BT Radianz, across the Product Marketing, Account Development and Engineering teams at Radianz from 2000 to 2007. Des has an MSc in Telecommunications, a BEng in Electronics and is a Chartered Engineer as well as a post-graduate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Managing Director, Americas
Ian is Managing Director of Operations for the Americas region, with global responsibility for Technical Account Management. Ian was based in London from 2008 to 2010 and then opened Object Trading’s US office where he is now based and is in charge of managing its growth. Ian brings his front office trading experience across multiple exchange and asset classes to the business. Prior to joining Object Trading, Ian spent 8 years working closely with the organisation building algorithmic trading solutions for clients in Europe and North America. Prior to that, Ian spent 7 years as an options trader on the LIFFE exchange floor in the capacity of both institutional and proprietary trader.
Director of Strategy
Dan Hubscher has been at Object Trading since November 2012, first as Director of Marketing and then, since March 2016, as Director of Strategy. Based in New York, Dan leads business and product strategy for Object Trading. Prior to joining Object Trading, Dan held the position of Industry Marketing Manager, Capital Markets for Progress Software where his responsibilities included developing innovative applications of the software for algorithmic trading, high frequency trading, market aggregation, market surveillance, and risk management. Between 2000 and 2008, Dan also held a number of senior roles at Radianz leading sales, marketing, and development efforts for market-leading latency network and Direct Market Access solutions. Dan is a dual-degree graduate, cum laude, of the University of Pennsylvania.
Bernard is a co-founder and non-executive director of Object Trading and has strong interests in the development of automated trading systems. He was also a co-founder and CEO of eStats Capital where he led a team of quant researchers and software specialists in the development and deployment of high frequency algorithms trading CME and Eurex futures contracts. eStats was subsequently sold to a South American proprietary trading firm in 2014. Prior to eStats, Bernard specialised in research and software development of short term automated trading applications and was formerly a director of two public futures trading funds based in Australia. Bernard Orenstein received a first class honours degree in Computer Science from the University of Technology, Sydney where he focused on artificial intelligence in his research projects.
Damien is the Programme Manager for Object Trading and is responsible for the organisation and timely delivery of the FrontRunner suite of solutions, and has been with Object Trading since 2007. Damien has 20 years of experience in Information Technology focused mainly on enterprise systems. Damien’s career in Project Management and Systems Management spans a broad spectrum of businesses which significantly include tenures at Accenture and Morgan Stanley. Damien has a Bachelor Electrical Engineering from Sydney University and is Oracle DBA Qualified and Oracle Financials Certified.
Tim provides Legal Counsel to Object Trading and was appointed as a Director in March 2010. Tim is responsible for all legal and contractual matters relating to Object Trading’s clients and staff. Previous to joining Object Trading, Tim was a Partner, based in Sydney, of the international law firm of Baker and McKenzie, where he was legal advisor to international and domestic technology and telecommunications clients. Tim also worked in Baker and McKenzie’s Belgian office for several years. Tim holds degrees in Law from the University of Auckland and the University of Virginia.
