Bernard Orenstein - Director

Bernard is a founder and non executive director of Object Trading. He contributes to the business on a regular basis in the areas of company strategy, product vision and business plan projects.

He is passionate about the development of automated, ultra high frequency trading systems and is the founder and managing director of eStats Capital – a private, proprietary trading business focused in this space. He leads a diverse and growing team of quant researchers and software specialists.

From 1998 Bernard specialised in the research and software development of short term automated trading applications. He was also involved in funds management as director of two public companies - Promethean Futures Limited and Arcana Provident Limited.

For the prior decade he was a research scientist at a corporate research laboratory focusing on advance computing technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality applied to a range of applications including manufacturing process operator guidance, plant scheduling and oil and minerals exploration. Some of his research was published in conference proceedings and journals including the IEEE Journal on Systems, Man and Cybernetics.

Bernard has a first class honours degree in Computer Science from the University of Technology, Sydney where he focused on artificial intelligence in his research projects.

Steve Woodyatt - Managing Director

Steve is founder and managing director of Object Trading since its inception. As one of the key founders, Steve has been integral to the development of the FrontRunner product set, and continues to lead its evolution in addition to his key executive responsibilities.

Prior to forming Object Trading, Steve was chief executive of an alternative investment fund manager, managing two retail hedge funds and wholesale allocated accounts. With years operational experience in trading and automated trading systems development for CTAs and hedge funds, his buy-side experience underpins much of the leading trade automation product vision in the FrontRunner application suite.

Steve is also non-executive director of a number of other technology companies servicing the banking and finance industry. Previously he had significant experience in the corporate development and technology divisions of a global commodities corporation, where he developed experience in the growth and management of complex technology-focussed businesses.

Steve received a B.Sc. (Hons 1) degree from the University of Queensland, and Grad. Dip. Management and MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM). He is a member of the Securities Institute of Australia (SIA), IEEE and ACM.

Ian McLeod - Chief Technical Architect

Ian McLeod is a well regarded technologist with 12 years experience in the field of software engineering.

His key experience includes software systems design and development across several domains including heavy industry, knowledge management, telecommunications, financial funds management and financial trading systems.

Before joining Object Trading in 2002, Ian gained international experience in the United Kingdom and Switzerland, where he consulted to a large international bank in a senior role specialising in object oriented analysis and systems design.

Ian holds a Bachelor of Computer Engineering (honours) and also a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Newcastle, Australia.
